Quantum Ghost-Hunting
As with anything else phenomenal and noumenal (without exception), the ghost field is a morphic field, whose dynamic substrata-hypostases are interdependent and interconnected with absolutely everything. 'Ghost field' can be substantiated with 'X' as a stand-in for anything you darn well please, and this is quantum-mechanically so, and never to be reified, the totality of fields is subsumed in the interfused hologram of entangled hierarchies of consciousness, and Consciousness-as-such.
We needn't necessarily resort to quantum Uncertainty to know, tacitly from experience that, for example, there is no way to objectively write (or rewrite) history, there is no way to journalize without affecting the objective. H. S. Thompson knew it all too well, hence he went for the Gonzo. There's really no other kind of truthful reporting.
N. Wiener talked about the epistemological issue of standardizing chronometry, that we could never know the accuracy of the standard chronometric second, since even the most isolated atomic clocks would be subject to quantum noise and stochastic perturbations.
I've watched my share of ghost-hunting, "paranormal reality" shows. A ghostbuster crew goes to a haunted place. They set up their equipment, cameras, electronic gizmos, and roam around looking for EVPs, poltergeist activities, residual and intelligent fields of activity, and so on.
I speak as a practitioner. It's been known by shaman-practitioners of old with regard to ghost-fields, that loud noise, symbols, and incantations make them cringe and disperse. In what is called the "Preta (Departed) Feeding" (Segaki) practice, incantations are to be done almost silently, without the use of any magickal tools of any kind other than a bowl of empowered, watery food (more watery than solid). Get too loud and the rite becomes less effectual. Psychic ghost-exorcists also raise cacophonies with drums, cymbals, bells, whistles, whatever to chase spirits out. In short, ghost-fields are of the resonance that is highly sensitive to sound (among other things).
So the next time you see a ghost-hunting show, you will see the same thing happen, and it happens every time. Scenario X: Ghostbuster walks around. Ghostbuster hears something. Ghostbuster says, "What the *bleep* was that?" Loudly. Then the Ghostbuster will say something like, "Was that YOU?" And it's almost not worth mentioning their occassional buffoonery of trying to "provoke" ghosts. Demons and higher entities can be provoked, but it would be a foolish thing to do. But ghosts cannot be provoked. They frighten and scatter easily.
The fundamental problem is with mechanistic thinking: In thinking that matter plays itself out independently of affecting consciousness(es).
Just Gedanken-imagine a bird-watcher who yells, "Hey, what the fuck is that?" every time an avian entity is spotted. That wave-collapsing birdwatcher's Audubon scrapbook will have lots of blank pages.
