ZVONKO PETROVIĆ
Rođen je 28. studenog 1925. u Zagrebu, umro 28.IV.2009. u Varaždinu.
U suradnji s prof. Vladimirom Devidéom pokrenuo je i organizirao tiskanje našega prvog časopisa za haiku-poeziju Haiku
, koji je izlazio u Varaždinu od 1977. do 1981. godine. Može se reći da je taj časopis jedan od kamena temeljaca hrvatske poezije haiku, vrlo pozitivno ocijenjen u uglednome djelu The Haiku handbook Williama J. Higginsona.Zvonko Petrović objavio je tri zbirke haikua: Trenuci nezaboravka, 1971; Tragom vaših koraka, 1973; Kažiprstom u trenutak pogleda, 1987. Dobitnik je šest prestižnih nagrada za svoje haikue na natjecanjima u Japanu i uvršten je u antologije haiku-pjesništva u domovini i inozemstvu. Osim haikua piao je i ulančane pjesme - renge. Prva knjiga rengi tiskana mu je 1995. i sadrži 21 rengu.
Svaka renga sadrži 36 strofa, a uz Zvonka Petrovića (ko)autori su Vladimir Devidé i Tomislav Maretić. Dobitnik je prijelaznoga Ludbreškoga stupa haikupjesnika za 2004. godinu, priznanja koje se dodjeljuje na Ludbreškim haiku-susretima od 2003. godine. Objavljivao u prestižnim časopisima kao što su Frogpond, Azami, Kō, te je nagrađivan na najvećem svjetskom festivalu za haiku s nagradnim natječajem Ito-En 1991, 1992, 1993 i 1994. godine, te je primio i pismo zahvale hrvatskoga veleposlanika u Tokiju za promoviranje Republike Hrvatske u svijetu.
Osim haikua, objavio je knjigu poezije Impulsi mašte i zbilje (2003) kao i knjigu aforizama Usputne zabilješke.
Sudjelovao je na recitalima poezije haiku i surađivao u listovima, časopisima, zbornicima i godišnjacima kao esejist.
Autor je niza predgovora haiku-zbirkama i član prosudbenih komisija na natječajima za haiku-poeziju.
Umro je u Varaždinu s proljeća 2009. godine.

Zvonko Petrović was born on November 28 1925 in Zagreb, died on April 28, 2009 in Varaždin. With Vladimir Devidé he started the haiku journal Haiku which was printed in Varaždin, and was its first editor in chief 1977 through to 1981. It may be said that this haiku magazine was part of the basis of the Croatian haiku poetry and was very well evaluated by William J. Higginson in his The Haiku Handbook.
Zvonko Petrović published three haiku collections: Trenuci nezaboravka(The Unforgotten Moments), 1971; Tragom vaših koraka (Tracing Your Steps) 1973; Kažiprstom u trenutak pogleda (With the Forefinger Into a Moment of a Gaze)1987. He was represented in numerous anthologies of haiku poetry home and abroad. Beside haiku he published a book of rengas in 1995 in co-autorship with Vladimir Devidé and Tomislav Maretić. He was the selector at domestic haiku contests and the author of numerous essays and book reviews. In 2004 he received the Ludbreg Column of Haiku Poets, a yearly travelling recognition which has been awarded at Ludbreg Haiku Meetings since 2003.
Beside haiku, he published Impulsi mašte i zbilje (The impulses of imagination and reality) and a Book of Aphorisms.
He took part in Croatian haiku festivals and published in journals, miscellanies and magazines for haiku. On Ito-En haiku contest in years 1991, 1992, 1993 and 1994 he received high awards and other commendations, he received a letter expressing thankfulness from the Croatian Ambassador in Tokyo, for the promotion of the Republic of Croatia in the World.
Zvonko Petrović died in Varaždin in Spring 2009.
