1. U mladoj travi
prljava bjelouška se
presvlači.
In the spring grass
the dirty grass snake
changes his clothes.
2. Miris se širi,
tako da kroz njega
sasvim prolazim.
Sweet smell expanding
so I’m passing through
completely.
3. Visoko u zraku
ptica nema sjenku.
Kakva žalost!
High in the air
a bird without a shadow.
What a pity!
4. Dok lišće žuti
sve zeleniji biva
gušteričin rep.
Leaves turn yellow
the lizard’s tail
becomes more green.
5. Zalijevajući ružu
i njezine se sjenke
nagledah.
Watering the rose
to my heart’s contest I gazed
even at its shadow.
6. Rosom sa krila
leptir prska i prve
zrake sunca!
With dew from its wings
a butterfly sprinkles also
the first beams of sun!
7. Ni pedalj nije
zvijezda od zvijezde
gledam li nebo.
Not even a span
is the distance from star to star
if I gaze at the sky.
7. ubrano cvijeće
različitih boja
jednako tužno
the picked flowers
in various colours
equally sad
8. Pero ptičje što pada
hita svojoj sjenci
na zemlji.
A falling feather
- rushing to its shadow -
on the ground.
9. U mutnoj lokvi
proljetne kiše dijete
kraćih nožica.
In a muddy puddle
- after the spring rain a child
with shorter legs.
10. Procvala šljiva
sve bjelja golubica,
kako se mrači.
Blossoming plum
as the dusk falls even whiter
is the dove.
