ZLATKO SKOTAK
Rođen je 1950. godine u Zagrebu gdje živi i radi kao službenik u financijskoj agenciji. Haiku i srodne japanske forme
objavljuje u časopisima Vrabac/Sparrow i Haiku u Zagrebu. Zastupljen je u antologiji hrvatske haiku-poezije Otvoren put/An Open Road i 100 hrvatskih haiku/100 Croatian Haiku, Zagreb, 2000. Haikui su mu tiskani u zbornicima haikususreta u zemlji, a za svoje haikue primio je nekoliko nagrada i pohvala.Godine 2004. objavio je u Zagrebu knjigu Zvuk polarne svjetlosti/Aurora Borealis’ Sound, dvojezičnu (na hrvatskom i engleskom jeziku) zbirku haikua, senrjua, vaka i haibuna. Osim haikua piše i suvremenu poeziju koju objavljuje u časopisima za književnost Nova Istra, Književna republika i Književna Rijeka.

Born in 1950 in Zagreb where he lives and works. Haiku and literary works in the Japanese style he publishes in periodicals Vrabac/Sparrow and Haiku in Croatia. He is represented in the Croatian haiku anthology Otvoren put/An Open Road and 100 hrvatskih haiku/100 Croatian Haiku, Zagreb, 2000. Over the years his haiku has been published in collections at the meetings of haiku poets in Samobor, Ludbreg and Kloštar Ivanić. For his haiku he has received awards and commendments in Croatia and abroad.
He has published a book Zvuk polarne svjetlosti/Aurora Borealis’ Sound in 2004, being billingual, in Croatian and English, a collection of haiku, senryu, waka and haibun. He also publishes poetry in literary journals in Croatia.

u snježnoj tišini
nadaleko se čuje.
Chopping of wood
can be heard far away
in the snowy silence.

sjenu na ravnicu
oblak na planinu.
The mountain throws
a shadow on the valley,
the cloud onto the mountain.
6. Tutnjavu vlaka
u bijelu tišinu
zameo snijeg.
The rattle of the train
covered with snow.
The white silence.
7. Crni oblaci.
Rijeka se slijeva
u oluju.

The river flows
into the storm.
