ŽELJKO FUNDA
Rođen je 1950. u Varaždinu, gdje i živi i radi kao srednjoškolski profesor engleskog jezika u Prvoj varaždinskoj Gimnaziji. Diplomirao je komparativnu književnost i engleski jezik na zagrebačkome Filozofoskom fakultetu. Član je Društva hrvatskih književnika.
Objavio je devet knjiga: novele, kajkavsku poeziju, ‘haibunaste tekstove’,
priče za djecu, kajkavski roman, Malu kajkavsku gramatiku. Godine 2004. dobio je Nagradu Katarina Patačić za najbolju knjigu na kajkavskom te 2005. godine Galovićevu nagradu. Preveo je na kajkavski sve Shakespeareove sonete i objavio ih 2000. godine. Uvršten je u brojne zbornike i antologije kajkavske poezije. Za kajkavsku poeziju na recitalima u Mariji Bistrici, Ivancu i Varaždinu osvojio je tri prve nagrade.Jedan je od pokretača Haikua, prvoga jugoslavenskog/hrvatskog haiku-časopisa (izlazio od 1977. do 1981), uvršten mnoge međunarodne zbornike i antologije haiku-poezije. Dobitnik je više od dvadeset nagrada i priznanja na međunarodnim natječajima u Japanu. U zadnje vrijeme izvodi „koanovske haiku-hepeninge“ na haiku-susretima u Hrvatskoj. Utemeljitelj je i sponzor Nagrade Graševina, koju već šest godina sam dodjeljuje na Samoborskim haikususretima, te inicijator prijelaznoga Ludbreškoga stupa haiku-pjesnika, priznanja koje se dodjeljuje na Ludbreškim haiku-susretima od 2003. godine i njegov dobitnik za 2005. godinu. Bio je selektor na nekoliko haiku-natječaja. Piše recenzije i eseje o haiku-poeziji u domaćim tiskanim i elektroničkim medijima.

Born in Varaždin, 1950, he got his degree in comparative literature and the English language from the Faculty in Zagreb. Now a secondary school teacher of English in Varaždin, a writer and a member of Croatian Writer’s Association, Zagreb.
He has published three books of Kajkavian poetry, a book of short stories, a book of short stories for children, a novel in Kajkavian, a book of „haibunish texts“, a Kajkavian grammar book, and collection of 100 sonets. Translated all Shakespeare’s sonnets in Kajkavian. He has received some very respectable recognitions for his work in Kajkavian.
One of the founders of the first Yugoslav/Croatian haiku magazine, entitled Haiku (Varaždin, from 1977 to 1981).
Represented in a number of haiku gatherings booklets and haiku anthologies in Croatia and abroad and on Internet.
The winner of more than 20 prizes and commendations for his haiku, mostly at international haiku contests in Japan.
Recently obsessed with „koan haiku happenings“, which he performs at haiku meetings in Croatia. The founder and sponsor of Graševina Award, which he has been presented at Samobor Haiku Meetings and the initiator (and the winner, 2005) of the the Ludbreg Column of Haiku Poets, a travelling recognition which has been awarded yearly at Ludbreg Haiku Meetings since 2003. He is a selector at several haiku contests. He writes reviews of haiku books and essays on haiku-related subjects.
