1. Gdje da skrenem
da dođem u svoje selo?
A kiše liju.
Where do I turn
to my village?
It rains in torments.
2. Već sam hrastov iver,
a sjedine me još drže
na blatnom putu.
I’m an oak splinter,
yet my greys hold me
on a muddy road.
3. Šibnata hiža
na bregu stoji.
kak sonce zahaja.
A wicker-and-mud hut
Gledi on the hill. Looking at
the sunset.
4. Aaah, zakaj sam stiha
kre te bare žabokrečine?!
Lopoči cveto.
Oooh, why am I so quiet
bear that backwater marsh?
Nenuphars bloom!
5. Lišće tiho šuška;
i zvijezde žmirkaju
na mirnu jesen.
Silent leaves are rustling,
and the stars are blinking
on calm Autumn.
6. Mrgodni dani,
u jesenske večeri
spremaju zimu.
Scowling days,
in the Autumn evenings
preparing Winter.
7. Pjevaj mi, ptico,
uz bijele krizanteme
jer ja nisam Bog.
Sing me, bird,
by the white chrysanthemums
for I’m not God.
