VJEKOSLAV SULIĆ
Rođen je 24. srpnja 1938. u Beogradu. Umirovljenik, stručni prevoditelj za engleski, talijanski i francuski jezik. Živi u Osijeku. Do sada objavio dvije zbirke
poezije, a 2005. zbirku haikua Gle! na hrvatskom, engleskom, francuskom i talijanskom jeziku. Haiku objavljuje u časopisu Haiku, Haiku Calendaru/ rokovniku Ludbreg te zbornicima haiku-susreta u zemlji u čijem radu i sam sudjeluje.Vjekoslav Sulić, O. Born on July 24th 1938 in Belgrade, a retired translator for English, Italian and the French language. He lives in Osijek. He published two collections of poetry, in year 2005 a haiku collection Gle!/ Look! in four languages he speaks.
He takes part in haiku meetings and contest in Croatia and his haiku were published in the magazine Haiku and miscellanies in the towns of Samobor, Ludbreg, Krapina’s Days of Dubravko Ivančan, Calendar/Rokovnik, Ludbreg.
1. Graktanje vrana
budi samo predgrađe.
Centar još spava.
The croaking of crows
wakes up the outskirts only.
The downtown is still asleep.
2. Sitan komarac
a tako snažno silnu
zaljulja šumu.
A tiny mosquito
yet so vigorous as to sway
the mighty wood.
3. Nekoć je ovdje
vrba bila, sad vezan
za panj vrbov čun.
Once a willow was here
now a willow-wood punt
is chained to the stump.
4. Na dnu jezera
napušteno selište.
U crkvi ribe.
On the lake’s bed
the deserted village.
Fish in the church.
5. Uspravan stoji
nakon svakog udara
jablan na vjetru.
Standing upright
- after every squall -
a poplar in the wind.
6. I opet na put
padaju lati trešnje.
Putna samoća.
Falling onto the path again
the petals of the cherry.
Travelling solitude.
7. Dan i noć kiša.
Niz nogu sve do pete
slijeva se bol.
It is raining day and night.
Down the leg to the heel
pouring - pain.
8. Sâm na tržnici
s toliko samih ljudi
na jednom mjestu.
Alone in the open air market
with so many lone people
on the same place.
9. Preko rijeke
ribar mi širi ruke:
„Ovolika je!
Across the river
a fisherman spreads his arms:
“ ”This big!“
10. Mokri i gladni
veliki kormorani
na goloj grani.
Wet and hungry
big cormorants
on a bare bough.
11. Između mina
na nasipu niknuo
cvijet različka.
Among the mines
on the bank sprouted
a cornflower.

i pahulja snijega
sigurno spava.

A couple of stag beetles
