VENČESLAV ŠPILAK
Rođen je 1954. godine u Zavrču, Slovenija. Osebujna ličnost zagrebačkog urbanog života, poznat kao haiku-pjesnik i ‹›kralj češnjaka››, autor mnogih
performansa, objavio je zbirku haikua i narodnih recepata Poezija i češnjak, koja je otisnuta u više od stotinu izdanja. Godine 1997. godine redatelj Tomislav Rukavina snimio je film o životu ovoga pjesnika. Haikui su mu tiskani u časopisima, zbornicima i nekoliko antologija haiku-poezije, sudjeluje u radu susreta hrvatskih haiku-pjesnika i dobitnik je nekoliko nagrada i pohvala u zemlji i inozemstvu.Venčeslav Špilak, Vinogradska 10, Dubrava Križovljanska, 42208

Born in 1954 in Zavrč, Slovenia. A characteristic personality of Zagreb’s rural life, known as a haiku poet and ‘the king of garlic’. Author of many performances, published a haiku collection and folk recipes Poetry and Garlic, which has been published in more than onehundred editions. In the year 1997 a movie was made about the life of this poet. His haiku have been published in journals, collections and several anthologies, he takes part in gatherings of the Croatian haiku poets and has received several prizes and commedations in Croatia and abroad.

5. Tiho prolazi
mačka i tri
mala mačića
So quietly
the cat passes by -

s leptirom
dotrčala u kuću

8. Po dnu se Save
provlače krila sove.
Zagrebačka noć
The owl’s wings

9. Nestankom snijega
dječak je pronašao svoju
izgubljenu loptu
Melted snow
a boy finding

10. List i vjetar
zajedno su napustili

Leaf and the wind
