TOMISLAV MARETIĆ
Rođen je 1951. u Zagrebu gdje radi kao liječnik na Klinici za infektivne
bolesti Dr. Fran Mihaljević. Haiku piše već 25 godina, a većinu svojih haikua (brojem oko 1000) objavio je u Maruliću, listu Hrvatskoga književnog društva sv. Jeronima. Njegovi haikui publicirani su i u više domaćih i međunarodnih časopisa te elektroničkih haiku-magazina. Primio je nekoliko međunarodnih nagrada i počasnih priznanja u domovini i inozemstvu, a njegovi su haikui predstavljeni u više međunarodnih i domaćih antologija i almanaha.Godine 1988. zajedno s Vladimirom Devidéom i Zvonkom Petrovićem napisao je prvu rengu na hrvatskom jeziku, a prva knjiga ovoga žanra Renge (Sipar, Zagreb) tiskana je 1995. Sudjelovao je u zajedničkoj zbirci Sedam Putova/Seven Ways, Zagreb, 2000.
Godine 2002. tiskao je zbirku pjesama slobodnoga stiha. Publicirao je i druge male forme kao što su sedoka, dodoitsu, tanka, smičak (zip), rengay te limerik (neke od ovih forma po prvi su put napisane na hrvatskom jeziku). Zajedno s Normanom Darlingtonom godine 2005. napisao je Junicho renku dvojezično pod naslovom Pokriven vjetrom/Covered by the Wind u čast prvog i najvećeg hrvatskog haiku-pjesnika Dubravka Ivančana. Ova renga vjerojatno je prva renga publicirana na esperantu (prijevod Normana Darlingtona). Živi sa ženom Anom i četvero djece u Gornjem Vrapču, selu pokraj Zagreba (poznatom po kajkavskome pjesniku Mirku Radušiću) u podnožju Zagrebačke gore.

He has been writing haiku for the past 25 years and the majority of his haiku has been published in Marulić - The Magazine of Croatian Literary Society “Saint Jerome”. His haiku has been published in several national and international periodicals and electronic haiku magazines. He has won several awards and honourary mentions of international haiku competitions and his haiku has been presented in several international and national haiku anthologies and almanachs.
In 1988, together with Vladimir Devidé and Zvonko Petrović, he wrote the first renga in the Croatian language and in 1995 the book Renge, (Sipar, Zagreb) was published. He is among the authors of the common, bilingual (Croatian/English) haiku collection Sedam putova/Seven Ways (Zagreb, 2000). In 2002 he published a collection of free verse poetry.
He lives in Vrapče, a little village near Zagreb at the foot of Zagrebačka gora, with his wife Ana and four children.
