RUDI STOPAR
Rudi Stopar je rođen 1939. godine u Boštanju kod Sevnice u Sloveniji. Živi i radi u Sevnici, a djeluje i u Zagrebu (odakle mu je supruga) i Hrvatskoj. Priznat je i nagrađivan kipar autodidakt i grafičar s mnogobrojnim opusom skulptura, spomenika, vitraža, grafičkih mapa i arhitektonskih rješenja. Kao kipar imao je preko 70 samostalnih i 120 skupnih izložaba na tlu bivše Jugoslavije i inozemstvu: Paris, Villach, Beč, Trst, Hamilton, Dundas, Toronto, London, Cambridge, St. Cristians, Gaziantep ...
Piše poeziju slobodnoga stiha, te je objavio pet zbirki. Od 1990. godine piše haiku objavivši 6 zbirki haikua i četiri knjižice hajgi. Hajge crta na ručno izrađenom papiru koji sam izrađuje. Godine 2001. organizirao je prvi međunarodni haiku-susret u Sevnici Sakura – Trešnjev cvijet. Haiku objavljuje u zbornicima i antologijama u Sloveniji, Hrvatskoj, Srbiji, Rumunskoj, Bugarskoj, Poljskoj, Francuskoj (EU) i Japanu. Dobitnik je brojnih nagrada, priznanja i pohvala na natječajima za haiku u Hrvatskoj, Sloveniji i Japanu.
Počasni je građanin grada Dundasa (Ontario, Kanada) i nosilac zlatne plakete grada Sevnice te Medaljona Srečko Kosovel - književne nagrade za životno djelo, Brežice.

Born in Boštanj near Sevnica in Slovenia, lives and works in Sevnica and Zagreb. Rudi Stopar is a well known sculptor and graphic, he has created a lot of sculptures, monuments and architectural objects. As a sculptor he has had over 70 own exhibitions and 120 group exhibitions in ex-Yugoslavia and abroad: Paris, Villach, Vienna, Trieste, Hamilton, Dundas, Toronto, London, Cambridge, St. Christians and Gaziantep. He is a poet of free verse with five published collections of poems. Since 1990 he has been writing haiku and so far he has published six collections of haiku poems and four collections of haigas. His haigas are painted on hand-made paper which he makes himself. In
2001 he started the International haiku camp in Sevnica called Sakura – Cherry blossom. His haikus are published in newspapers and anthologies in Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, France, Turkey and Japan. He is an author who has received several rewards, comendations and praises. He is also a freeman of Dundas – Ontario in Canada and the winner of a Golden Prize of his home town Sevnica and the medallion of Srečko Kosovel - Literary Lifework Award, Brežice.
