MIRKO VARGA
Rrođen je 15. rujna 1959. u Korenjaku, općina Maruševec. Diplomirao i magistrirao na Fakultetu organizacije i informatike u Varaždinu. Poezijom haiku počeo se baviti 90-ih godina inspiriran knjigama o haikuu prof. Vladimira Devidéa. Godine 1994. ulazi u japansku antologiju posvećenu 300. godišnjici Bašove (Basho) smrti s haikuom na njemačkom jeziku koji u prijevodu glasi:
Zvuk sirene/opominje – pronađi sklonište/u sebi. Zahvaljujući nagradi za haiku Shimanami Kaido, u rujnu 1999. putuje u Japan gdje upoznaje poznate svjetske pjesnike haikua iz Japana i Amerike s kojima i nadalje surađuje.Godine 1997. s prof. Zdenkom Orečem pokreće
Haiku-zbornik Ludbreg – centar svijeta čiji je i urednik te haiku-susrete koje posjećuju aktivni pjesnici haikua iz Hrvatske i Slovenije. Zastupljen je u brojnim svjetskim antologijama haikua, sudjeluje na međunarodnim haiku-natječajima, a njegovi nagrađeni haikui mogu se pronaći i na internetu. Born on September 15
th 1959 in Korenjak near Maruševec, he graduated from the Faculty of Organization and Informatics in Varaždin, where he lives. Haiku he started to write during the nineties of the XX century inspired by the book about haiku written by prof. Dr. Vladimir Devidé. In 1994 his haiku Sound of the siren/Warns – find a shelter/ Within yourself was published in the Japanese anthology dedicated to the 300th aniversary of Basho’s death. Thanks to another award for haiku, Shimanami Kaido, in September of 1999 he travelled to Japan where he mets world famous haijins from Japan and the USA and continues to cooperate with them.In the year 1997, with prof. Zdenko Oreč he founded the
Haiku Miscellany Ludbreg – Center of the world and became its editor, and the haiku meetings visited by active Croatian and Slovenian haiku poets. His haiku have been printed in several world anthologies, he takes part at the Croatian and international haiku contests and his haikus may be found on the Internet. He is a member of the jury at international haiku contest in English, Ludbreg Calendar/Rokovnik.

Veliki sprovod kriomice
