MILA ŽELEZNJAK
Rođena 4. ožujka 1954. godine u Draškovcu (Međimurje), živi u Čakovcu, po zanimanju je inženjerka elektrotehnike, radi kao projektantica, članica je Društva hrvatskih književnika i čakovečkoga književnog kruga ‹Reci rieč›. Dosad je objavila dvije zbirke pjesama, Šah s prijateljima i
Sezona lova, zbirku pripovijedaka Sretne priče (uvrštenu u lektiru za drugi razred osnovne škole) te četiri radioigre za djecu i radiodramu Vještica izvedene na programu Hrvatskoga radija studija Zagreb. Također, objavljivala je pjesme, basne i priče za djecu u književnim časopisima, časopisima za djecu te na radiju. Haiku objavljuje u časopisu Haiku te povremeno sudjeluje u radu haiku-susreta u Ludbregu i na danima Dubravka Ivančana u Krapini.***
Born on 4
th March 1954. in Draškovec, Međimurje. She is by vocation an engineer of electrotehnics, works on projects and is a member of the Croatian Writers’ Society, Zagreb and Literature group ‘Reci rieč’ in Čakovec. So far she has published two books of poems, Chess With Friends and The Hunting Season as well as a book of children’s stories called The Happy Tales. Four of her radio-plays for children as well as The Witch, a radio-play for adults, were broadcast on Croatian National Radio, Zagreb Studio. Also, she has published poems, fables as well as children’s stories in literary journals, children’s magazines and on Croatian National Radio. Haiku she publishes in the magazine Haiku and partially, takes part in the work of meetings of Croatian haiku poets in Ludbreg and Krapina, at the Days of Dubravko Ivančan.

The soft hand
of the angel scatters white

2. Pustim zgarištem
mačka izvela mlade
u prvu šetnju.
Empty site of a fire,
the cats brought out her kittens
for their first walk.
3. Proljetni pljusak
rascvali se krasuljci
na kišobranu.

the daisies burst into bloom
on the umbrella.
4. S tornja prhne
gavran i nestane
u oluji.
A raven takes off
from the tower and disappears
into the storm.
5. Ptičica i ja
jedini prolaznici
snježnim parkom.
Birdie and I
the only passers-by

6. Dvije sjene
nježno se zagrlile
u snježnom sutonu.
