MAJA RIJAVEC
Rođena u Zagrebu 1939, gdje je diplomirala engleski jezik i povijest umjetnosti. Od 1994. živi u Dugom Selu, autorica je dvije serije udžbenika engleskoga jezika za osnovnoškolski uzrast. Radi u Kazalištu za učenje stranih jezika u Zagrebu i piše dramske tekstove. Bavi se slikanjem i ilustriranjem udžbenika i slikovnica. Na hrvatskome jeziku piše tekstove za slikovnice i poeziju za djecu. Haiku piše od 1990. i objavljuje u časopisima i zbornicima.
Nagrađena je za haiku u Japanu i na kloštranskim haiku-susretima 2006. godine. Zastupljena je u nekoliko antologija.

Born in Zagreb in 1939 where she graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy in 1964 and obtained a BA in English language and history of art. Since 1994 she has lived in Dugo Selo. She is the author of two series of English course books for young pupils. She is currently writing drama texts for the Foreign Language Teaching Theatre in Zagreb where she also teaches. As an amateur painter she has been illustrating course books and picture books. In Croatian she writes texts for picture books and poetry for children. She has been engaged in writing haiku since 1990. Her haiku verses have been published in haiku magazines and periodicals in Croatia and some of them were included in anthologies. She has received comendations and an award for her haiku in Japan and Croatia.
