JOSIP JAKOV PLANINIĆ
Rođen je u Sarajevu 1941. godine. Školovao se u Travniku i Zagrebu, gdje je i doktorirao na tzv. egzaktnom prirodoslovlju. Sveučilišni je profesor, ordinarijus. Pjesme objavljuje u hrvatskim časopisima za književnost i duhovnost; prepjevi njegove poezije pojavljuju se u slovenskim i talijanskim časopisima za književnost i kulturu, čitane su u više navrata na Radio Ljubljani te Radio Zagrebu. Do sada je objavio ukupno pet knjiga, od toga tri knjige poezije. Haiku objavljuje u časopisima i zbornicima za haiku, a tiskane su mu i

Born in Sarajevo in 1941, educated in Travnik and Zagreb where he received his PhD in Science. He is a full professor. His poems have been published in Croatian literary and spiritual journals; the translations have been published in Slovenian and Italian journals for literature and culture and read several times on the Ljubljana Radio as well as on Zagreb Radio. He has published three books of poetry and two haiku collections: Četiri godišnja doba/ Four Seasons and Na izvorima ljepote (At the Springs of Beauty). He takes part in haiku meetings in Croatia, publishes in common collections as well and is a member of Association of Croatian Haiku Poets, Zagreb.
1. Prvi proljetni
dan - sve vrbe uz rijeku
zazelenjele.
The first Spring day
all the willows beside the river
became green.
2. Susrećem stado
koza na osami – sve
gledaju u me.
I met a herd
of goats - all of them
look at me.
3. Na vrhu otoka
samo vjetrovi, Sunce
i daljine.
On the top of the island
only winds, sun
and long distances.
4. Dijelim objed
s galebima uz more
jedan se glasa k-s-s-s.
I share my lunch
with gulls by the sea
one screams k-s-s-s.
5. Žuti leptir bi
me mimoišao - čas
lijevo čas desno.
A yellow butterfly
would pass me by
once left - once right.
6. Poslije kiše
u gorju maglice se
dižu nad šumom.
After the rain
in the mountain the mist
lifting above the forest.
7. Vjetar u šumi
plešu visoke krošnje
jasena - jesen.
Wind in the forest
tall ash-trees dance -
the Autumn.
8. Mraz u šumi
osipaju se bijela
zrnca s grana.
Frost in the forest
white pearls falling
from the boughs.
9. Gle ojužilo
s topotom opada
snijeg s jela.
South wind
the snow from the fir-trees
fall in clumps.
10. Jutro na moru
nebo i pučina se
ne razaznaju.
Morning by the sea
unable to discern the sky
and the open sea.
