IVAN PAHERNIK
Rođen je 6. srpnja 1938. na staroj Trešnjevki u Zagrebu. Primijenjeni je grafičar, karikaturist i književnik. Član je Društva hrvatskih književnika, Hrvatskog društva karikaturista i inih udruga civilnoga društva. Primio je brojne nagrade za karikaturu u zemlji i svijetu. Do sada je objavio sedam
knjiga, a po njegovome biografskom romanu Još Hrvatska ni propala snimljen je film Snivaj zlato moje godine 2005. Autor je nekoliko pjesničko-likovnih zbirki. Izlagao na brojnim skupnim i samostalnim izložbama.Haiku objavljuje više od petnaest godina u časopisima i zbornicima u Hrvatskoj i izvan nje na nekoliko jezika. Godine 1995. objavio je zbirku haikua Sabrana godišnja doba/A collected Year’s Season’s koju je i ilustrirao. Sudjeluje u radu hrvatskih festivala i haiku-susreta te objavljuje u relevantnim zbornicima u Ludbegu, Samoboru i Kloštar Ivaniću te u inozemstvu.

He is a member of the Association of Croatian Writers, Croatian Caricaturists Association and several other cultural and literature societies. His caricatures published in numerous satirical magazines have won several prestigeous prizes and awards in Croatia and abroad. So far he has published seven books and after his biographical novel an excellent and highly prized movie Snivaj zlato moje (Pleasant Dreams my Darling) was produced in 2005.
Haiku he has written for over 15 years. In 1995 he published a bilingual haiku collection Sabrana godišnja doba/A Collected Year’s Seasons which he illustrated, as well. He takes part in all Croatian haiku meetings and festivals and publishes in the relevant collections in Samobor, Ludbreg and Kloštar Ivanić and haiku magazines in Croatia and abroad.

2. Djevojčica lovi
jezikom prve snježne
pahuljice.

3. Iz istarske magle
izranjaju zvonici
tresuć zvonima.
Belfries emerge
from the Istrian fog
slowly pealing.
4. Jedrilice i
lastavice nečujno
plove modrinom.
The sail boats
and swallows sailing
over the blueness silently.
5. Iz smetlišta
vire oglodana rebra
stare rifljače.
From the trash heap
protruding gnawed ribs
of an old wash-board.
6. Prije spavanja
potok ponavlja priče
drijemovcima.
Before going to sleep
the brook repeats the stories
to the snowflakes.
7. Kos doletio
na javor. Sletio
list u bojama.
A blackbird came flying
onto the maple. Taking off,
a coloured leaf.
8. Suhu ružu
nježno stavlja među
suhe ruže.
A dry rose
he places gently among
dry roses.
9. Šljivine latice
padaju oprezno
na koprive.
Plum’s petals
landing carefully
onto a stinging-nettle.
10. Krizenteme su
isplakale latice
na grobovima.
The chrysanthemums have
cried out their petals
on the graves.
11. A-BOMB CLUB
ne prima nove članove.
Bum – bum – bukirano.

overbooked.
12. Satovi
stali u srcima
svi u isto vrijeme.
The clocks
stopped in the hearts
all at the same time.
13. Iskopani krumpir
prenosi na kola u
kolijevki.
Dug out potatoes
carried to the wagon in

14. U boriku
izgorjelo sve osim
limenki piva.
In the pine grove
everything burned down
except the beer cans.
15. Preda mnom sjene
leptira. Okrenem se.
U suncu nestaše.
Butterfly shadow
