IVAN NADILO
Rođen je 1939. u Blatu na otoku Koručuli. Po profesiji je geolog. Živi i radi u Metkoviću od 1977. Rijeka Neretva najčešći je motiv i inspiracija njegovih
haikua. Tiskao je knjižicu haikua i fotohajgi pod nazivom Neretva. Sudjeluje u radu hrvatskih haiku-susreta i objavljuje u relevantnim zbornicima u Samoboru, Ludbregu i Ivanić Kloštru. Za svoje haikue primio nekoliko nagrada i pohvala u zemlji. Član je Društva hrvatskih haiku pjesnika, Zagreb i World Haiku Association, Japan.(www.worldhaiku.net/Poetry/Nadilo)

Born in 1939 in Blato, the island of Korčula. By profession he is a surveyor.
Since 1977 he has been living in Metković. The river Neretva has been the most frequent motive and inspiration for his haiku and he has published a booklet of haiku and photo haiga titled Neretva. He has been taking part in haiku meetings in Croatia and publishes in various joint haiku collections and in the magazine Haiku. For his haiku he has received several awards and commendations. A member of the Association of Croatian Haiku Poets, Zagreb and th eWorld Haiku Association, Japan.

1. Ljetni suncostaj.
Starac i rijeka
usklađuju hod.
Summer solstice.
An old man and the river
synchronize their walk.
2. Seosko groblje.
Starac iščitava
imena i godine.
Village cemetery.
An old man reading out
the names and years.
3. Na suncu blista
pokošena livada.
Sjedine kosca.
Glittering in the Sun
the valley after mowing.
The grey hair of the reaper.
4. Šećući grobljem
zrcalim se u sjaju
crnog mramora.
Walking in the cemetery
I’m mirrored in the shine
of black marble.
5. Četiri kata
u tišini. Na petom
novorođenče!
Four floors
silent. On the fifth
a newborn baby!
6. Posvema mirnih
krila galeb prepušten
visinama.
With complete calm
the seagull yielded
itself to the high altitudes.
7. Na mjestu gdje je
jutros sjalo sunce
večeras mjesec.
In the place where
the Sun shone this morning
tonight the Moon.
8. Jesen je. Starac
sa zasjenjene klupe
na osunčanu.
Autumn. The old man
from the overshadowed bench
to the sunlit one.
9. U svibnju
ulica bijela od
mladih koljena.
In May
the street is white with
young knees.
10. I okorjeli
brbljivac zašutio.
Šum vodopada.
The incorrigible chatterer
has fallen silent, too.
Murmur of the waterfall.
11. Na ljetnom suncu
smiruju se bodlje
morskog ježa.
In the summer sun
spines of a sea urchin
relax.
12. Svu noć snježilo.
Jutarnje zvono reže
bijelu tišinu.
It snowed all night long.
