IVAN MILJAK
Rođen je 1929. godine u Novim Selima, Omiš. Studij filozofije završio u Sarajevu, a postdiplomski, društvenohumanističke
znanosti, u Dubrovniku. Umirovljen 1992. kao srednjoškolski profesor. Piše poeziju i haiku te se bavi fotografijom i filmom. Primio je nekoliko priznanja za promicanje kinoamaterizma i filmske kulture. Sudjeluje u raduhaiku-susreta, objavljuje u časopisu

Born in 1929 in Nova Sela, Omiš. He graduated from the Arts Faculty in Sarajevo and did post-graduate studies at
the Univerity of Dubrovnik. He retired as a secondary school professor. He has been writing poetry and haiku and has been engaged in art photography and film and received several recognitions for his work. He promotes the amateur cinema and the film culture. He has been taking part in haiku meetings and publishing haiku in magazines Haiku and Nova Istra and periodicals with regard to the haiku meetings in Croatia.

On the trail
of a spring gone dry
a small path.
2. Dječak zastao
sred boja i mirisa
na livadi.
The boy has stopped still
among the colours and scents
in the meadow.
3. Dječak zatraži
da vrati u more
ulov ribara.
The boy asks
to return to the sea
the fisherman’s catch.
4. Radost i zgoda
pastiri donijeli
niske jagoda.
A joyful event -
the shepherds brought
strings of strawberries.
5. Niz visoku hrid
vrletne planine
ruši se i sja slap.
Down a tall cliff
falls down and shines -
the waterfall.
6. Na morskom žalu
lagani val ispire
školjke u nizu.
- On the sandbank -
a small wave washing
a string of seashells.
7. Nema ulova.
Ribare ne pitat
psuju i idu spat.
Caught nothing.
- No questions for the fishermen -
they swear and go to sleep.
8. Na ledini
razigrani zajedno
djeca i janjčići.
In the meadow
playful together
children and the lamb.
9. Dva žuta lista
trepere na osami
uvrh jablana.
Two yellow leaves
- flutter in solitude -
on the top of a poplar.
10. Novost:
u našem kraju sve je
pobijelio snijeg.
News:
in our region everything is
covered by snow.
11. Zaplovljavaju
bistro more zrcali
krajolik u moru.
- They set sail -
a clear sea mirrors
paysage in the sea.
12. Lagani vjetrić
otkri između lišća
već suhu smokvu.
