ANTE TIČIĆ
Suvremeni hrvatski književnik, rođen 18. rujna 1944. u Povljani na otoku Pagu. Književnom radu posvećuje se nakon apsolviranja više poljoprivredne škole u Križevcima. Za domovinskog rata višestruko je aktivan u Zadru.
Piše lirske pjesme na hrvatskome književnom jeziku i povljanskom idiomu te prozu, dječje pjesme, sonete i sonetne vijence, pjesničku prozu, aforizme, crtice, članke, književne osvrte, recenzije i monografije. Stihovi su mu uglazbljivani. Djela objavljuje u mnogim listovima, časopisima, zbornicima, na radiju i televiziji. Dobitnik nagrade za životno djelo rodne Povljane. Poezija mu je prevedena na nekoliko stranih jezika i izvođena na na brojnim tribinama i u tv-emisijama. Uredio je nekoliko knjiga. Član je mnogih kulturnih društava, između ostaloga član suradnik Društva hrvatskih književnika, Ogranak u Zadru.
Objavio je 15 knjiga, od toga 6 zbirki pjesama te pjesme i haiku iz rata U sjeni otisaka snenih, 1993. Objavio je tri samostalne zbirke haikua - Sjaj u tišini, 1989, Prah svjetlosti, 1990, Sunce nad morem, 1991. Born on September 18th 1944 in Povljana, island of Pag. After ending his education at the Higher School of Agriculture he started his writing career. During the Homeland War he was active in Zadar. He writes verses in Croatian and Povljana’s Idiom; prose, poetry for children, sonnets, prose in verse, aphorisms, essays, reviews. His poems have been set to music. He publishes in many literature magazines, journals, anthologies and on the radio and television.
He has received the Life Award from the town of his birth. His poetry has been translated into several languages, he himself edited several books and monographies. He is a member of several cultural asociations and a memeber - fellow contributor to the Croatian Writer’s Association, the Zadar branch.
He has published 15 books: six collections of poetry, poems and haiku about the war in 1993 (U sjeni otisaka snenih- In the shadow of dreamed tracks), three haiku collections (1989, 1990 and 1991), sonnets, aphorisms and monographies. His haiku have been publishsed in periodicals in Croatia and several anthologies.

Blossoming apple-tree.
The ants rushing up
and down the trunk.
2. Jaka južina.
Magarac okrenuo
rep spram vjetru.
Strong south Wind.
A jackass turning his tail
toward the wind.
3. S mirisom ovaca
pastir je kući
donio mlijeko.
The shepherd brought home
with the smell of the sheep
the milk.
4 Već peti dan
olujna bura
soli otok.
The fifth day already
the borra
salting the island.
5. Konjska muha
bojeći se repa
skrila se poda nj.
A horse fly
fearing the tail
hides under it.
6. Mjesec nad valom
po moru vijugaju
srebrne niti.
Moon above the bay
on the sea meander
silvery treads.
7. Zamagljen mjesec
tminom zapadnog neba
tone u oblak.
A fogged Moon
with the darknes of the West sky
sinking into a cloud.
8. Uvala vri.
U zagrljaju vjetra
drhturi more.
A boiling bay.
In the embrace of the wind
a trembling sea.
9. Nalet oblaka.
Razramenjen Velebit
čeka oluju.
Rush of the clouds.
Unshouldered Velebit
waiting for the storm.
10. Puše maestral.
Nad uzburkanim morem
lebde otoci.
The South wind.
Above the surging sea
soaring islands.
11. Prohladan dan.
zatečeni napadom
drhtimo pas i ja.
A chilly day.
The dog and I trembling
caught by the attack.
12. Neprijatelj motri.
Neobrana polja
zreloćom mirišu.
The enemy observes.
The ungathered fields spread
